Award Flight Assist Reopening
Following the announcement that Australia’s international borders will gradually reopen from next month, we are pleased to advise that our Award Flight Assist service has reopened!
We are currently accepting requests for assistance with award bookings to/from Australia from February 2022 onwards.
This is due to limited flight availability and uncertainty about what international travel restrictions will remain in place over the next few months. We will progressively resume accepting requests for earlier travel dates once there is more clarity from the Australian government about the international border reopening and airlines have had an opportunity to adjust their schedules accordingly.
At this time, we can only accept requests from customers who will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of travel. This is because most countries including Australia, as well as many airlines, now require COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of international travel. (The only exception is people who are exempt from all relevant government and airline vaccination requirements, e.g. young children or those with a legitimate medical exemption).
New: Complimentary follow-up assistance
Due to the uncertainty of travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have added some additional flexibility to Award Flight Assist.
We still offer complimentary follow-up assistance with completing your award booking. Each Award Flight Assist request now also includes complimentary assistance with rebooking your trip one time, if needed, in the event of a flight cancellation or COVID-19 travel restrictions being added after booking that impact your journey.
This could be useful if your airline cancels your flight and doesn’t automatically rebook you or offer any suitable alternative flights. If this happens, or you need to rebook your trip due to the introduction of new COVID-19 restrictions, your consultant will help you with finding alternative flights and/or itineraries once at no extra charge.
