Frequent Flyer Training Updates

Here are some of the recent changes to loyalty programs and new updates we’ve made to the Frequent Flyer Solutions training over the past month, as of December 2022.

As a reminder, Business & First Class members enjoy unlimited access to the Frequent Flyer Solutions training program. If you’re a Premium Economy or Economy member, you can access the first unit of every course for free or upgrade your membership to gain full access!

New Star Alliance credit card in Australia

HSBC has launched a new Star Alliance credit card in Australia that offers the ability to earn points with 7 Star Alliance airlines. It also offers a way to earn Star Alliance Gold status without flying.

We’ve added a section to Unit 8.1.1 (Maximising Status Credits) about this new card and updated the Credit Card Master List.

Redeem Aeroplan points on two new airlines

Air Canada Aeroplan points can now be redeemed on two new partner airlines – Bamboo Airways (based in Vietnam) and SunExpress (based in Turkey). Updated Unit 4.2.6 (Air Canada Aeroplan).

Marriott Bonvoy removes transfer points for Korean Air Skypass

Marriott Bonvoy has removed the 25% bonus for point transfers to Korean Air Skypass. Updated Unit 4.2.9 (Marriott Bonvoy).

Alaska Airlines brings LATAM awards online

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members can now redeem miles for LATAM Airlines flights on the Alaska Airlines website. Previously, these awards were only available over the phone. Updated Unit 4.2.2 (Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan).

Priority Pass fee increase

Priority Pass has increased the cost of lounge visits, including guest visits. Updated Unit 8.2.2 (Priority Pass).

Updates to credit card sign-up offers

We continuously update the Credit Card Master List in Unit 3.2.4 (Choosing a Credit Card), as well as the current Australian credit card sign-up offers in Unit 3.3.1 (Bonus Sign-up Points), at the start of every month. This was last updated on 5 December 2022.
