It's not just airlines that have loyalty programs. Hotels, supermarkets and car rental companies also offer benefits to loyal (and in some cases, disloyal) customers.

Hotel loyalty programs reward frequent stayers with room upgrades, lounge access, complimentary breakfast, free nights and all sorts of other benefits. There are also many points to be gained by maximising Flybuys or Woolworths Rewards points.

Both Qantas and Virgin Australia also run loyalty programs for small-to-medium businesses. As well as bonus points and discounted flights, one of these programs offers an easy fast-track to Gold frequent flyer status.
